Mother's Day 2013 - Knit A Long Update

I hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day. I spent the day being really lazy and knitting on the EuroCowl we chose for the KAL. Here's my progress so far. If you get ahead of me, don't forget about the crochet bind off required to maintain a stretchy edge. Another option is the sewn bind off. I'll be posting videos later in May to show you how.

Yesterday was a busy day at Diva Day in Lake City. I sold mostly soap but, we met a lot of nice people who now know where the shop is! I pretty much turned the shop upside down taking things for our display at the show so, tomorrow is reorganize day! I've got these darling little knitted and crocheted bracelets I made for sale in the shop $7 each. Aren't they cute?

I'm looking forward to finding ways to get the yarn bomb squares/circles/etc made and plan a date to sew them on the tree for the season. It will certainly brighten up the front of the shop and generate interest for the fiber arts in general. I've had so much yarn donated for the yarn bomb! We will have a giveaway soon on the condition recipients of free yarn give back at least one square or other shape for the tree.

Speaking of fiber arts, spinning is awesome and I can't wait to ply my first yarn and learn how to use my jumbo flyer to make crazy art yarns. Learning to dye is next on the agenda. I'm trying to practice spinning everyday for at least 30 minutes.

Again, I hope you had a wonderful, relaxing day. See you at the shop soon.
